Following an extensive national search, we are pleased to share with you that Michele Beals, will join us as Sunnybrook’s new Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, as of July 18, 2022.
Michele is an accomplished CFO, with more than 25 years of experience, with the last 17 years in health care. She is currently the Vice President of Finance at Hamilton Health Sciences Centre, where she provides leadership for the management of the organization’s more than $1.7 billion annual budget.
I want to thank our multi-disciplinary selection committee for conducting such a robust and thorough process that included strong applicants and interest from across Canada. In the end, Michele’s demonstrated financial background, enthusiasm and deep interest in Sunnybrook made her our ideal choice and we are looking forward to having her on board in July.
Before joining Hamilton Health Sciences Centre in 2015, Michele served as a senior leader at William Osler Health System for almost 12 years in roles such as Executive Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Integrated Vice President of Finance & CFO. There, she was instrumental in leading the finance team to support a regional vision.
Michele has made numerous contributions in the health system, including working to secure provincial funding, transforming financial planning teams, expanding the financial toolkit for leaders, and implementing procurement best practices and governance.
